Harmonie Lodge No. 282 has met in Carrickfergus since its warrant was first issued in 1809. The Lodge takes its name from the word "Harmonie" which was discovered engraved upon its original jewels, a set entrusted to Lodge 43 in 1886 by Marriott Dalway of Bellahill and returned when the Lodge was re-formed in 1889.

A short history
Warrant No. 282 was first issued to Brethren of Carrickfergus in 1809, but was returned to Grand Lodge in 1830. In 1889 a memorial was presented to Grand Lodge by Josias W. Patrick, Samuel Maxwell, Henry Blackburne, James Bell, James N. Hamilton, A. J. A. Lepper and John Vint, and the same number was re-issued to the town. The Lodge has worked continuously since.
