St. Patrick's Lodge is the oldest of the Craft Lodges currently meeting at Carrickfergus Masonic Centre. The Lodge was founded on 2nd June 1756 under Warrant No. 270, issued by the Grand Lodge of Ireland. In 1817 the original warrant was exchanged for No. 43, the number under which the Lodge has worked ever since.
We send a hearty welcome to all visiting Brethren wherever they may be dispersed. We extend a particularly warm greeting to our Brethren from Lodge Battlefield, Glasgow and from St. Patrick's Lodge No. 1594 in Marseille with whom we are formally twinned. A short history
Warrant No. 270 was first issued to Carrickfergus in 1756 to Patrick McDowell, John Patterson, Patrick Allen and Whittney Bowman. In 1760 the warrant and jewels were carried off when the French Admiral Thurot occupied the town. They were later restored by Captain Elliott, who captured the French fleet off the Isle of Man.
A duplicate warrant was issued by Grand Lodge in 1805, and from that date our records run continuously. In 1817 the Lodge resolved to exchange Warrant No. 270 for No. 43 and was installed under that number on 29th November of the same year. Lodge 43 today is the direct continuation of Lodge 270.

We share a long and warm friendship with St. Patrick's Lodge No. 1594, Marseille, with whom we are formally twinned.
